Pressure Cooker = No Pressure! The Best Instant Pot Dog Food Suggestions

Making homemade food for your dog may seem like a silly thing, but it can provide many health benefits not available in off-the-shelf ready-made cans. And you’ll save yourself a lot of money too!

If you have an instant pot at home, you could be whipping up a few tasty meals for your dog in your own kitchen! This could be beneficial for many different reasons. Here are a few listed below!

1. Saves Money

Perhaps one of the biggest reasons you should start cooking meals at home is because it can save you money. Dog food isn’t always the cheapest thing. If you want the healthiest kind of dog food, then it will cost you even more money because of the high-quality ingredients that it contains.

That’s money you can save by cooking for your dog at home instead. All you need is an instant pot and your ingredients. By cooking in bulk with the pot, you could have tasty and healthy meals for your pet for the entire week.

2. Healthier

Because you control what goes into the meal, you can also make meals that are healthier for your dog. A lot of the meat that they use in simple kibble dog foods is a by-product. This means that the meat came from an animal that wasn’t fit for human consumption. Who wants to give their dog that?

Instead, you can give them the meat that they deserve. Lean muscle meat is the best kind of meat to give your dog. It’s delicious, nutritional, and it contains a lot of protein that can keep them healthy and energetic.

Besides meat, you can also control what kind of vegetables your dog eats. A lot of dog foods will use filler from vegetables that dogs can’t even digest properly. By using an instant pot, you can choose the veggies that actually do something nutritionally for your dog instead of just making them feel full.

3. No Preservatives

Perhaps one of the biggest reasons that you should cook food for your dog at home is because you won’t be using preservatives. To keep their dog food lasting for weeks, a lot of companies add in preservatives. Unfortunately, the preservatives they use can be toxic to your dog.

Some can even cause cancer. To ensure your dog remains healthy and cancer-free, you can cook meals for him that are fresh. You can make just enough to get them through the week before you make a new batch. This completely removes the need for preservatives.

4. Customizable

Another great reason for making your dog’s food at home with an instant pot is because you can completely customize their meal plans. If your dog needs a little bit of extra protein, then you can make them a meal that packs it in.

Or if your dog requires a low carb diet to help them lose weight, then you can add in the necessary ingredients to make it as low carb as possible.

Essentially, if your dog has a condition like kidney problems, bone joint problems, obesity, or any other condition, you can help them by providing them with wholesome and fresh meals that can help those conditions.

5. Quick Meals

One turn-off that pet owners have from cooking at home for their dogs is their time constraints. For meat, it can take an hour or so for it to finish cooking. Then you have to add in vegetables to that time. The amount of time it takes to cook meals traditionally isn’t always possible for busy families.

The instant pot removes that problem. As its name suggests, it can cook meals quickly. Even if you don’t have a lot of time on your hands, you can still find just enough time to cook by using the instant pot.
